Maryam Miri

Maryam Miri is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School, where she earned her Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law, with a concentration in U.S. immigration law. During law school, she focused extensively on immigration law, including asylum and refugee law, immigration enforcement, and family- and employment-based immigration matters.

Before beginning her U.S. immigration practice, Maryam worked as a Hearing Officer with Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), where she conducted interviews with applicants from diverse backgrounds. This experience gave her a unique perspective on humanitarian protection and the profound impact immigration decisions can have on individuals and families.

Maryam’s practice focuses on family- and employment-based immigration, adjustment of status, waivers, and complex USCIS matters. She has extensive experience preparing responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), motions to reopen and reconsider, and I-601 waiver applications. She particularly enjoys cases that require detailed legal analysis, careful review of the facts, and developing strong strategies to overcome difficult immigration issues.

Having lived and studied in different countries and navigated the U.S. immigration system herself, Maryam understands that immigration is more than a legal process, it directly affects a person’s family, career, stability, and future. She approaches each case with empathy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to advocating for the best possible outcome for her clients.

Maryam is fluent in Persian, German, and English and Turkish.
